Last week, the traditional event was held. X-MAS Madrid by the Dama España association. An event that brought together a large number of professionals from the data sector to highlight needs, challenges and solutions within the world of management and the data governance. In addition, the event was also used to review the best moments of 2023 in terms of learning, debates, training and tips from the year; a way to gain momentum for the coming year and identify new needs and highlight their value.

Mario de Francisco Ruiz, Chief Executive Officer of Anjana Data, He gave a presentation on the four strategies for implementing a Data Governance model, discussing offensive and defensive strategies with a reactive and proactive approach. It was undoubtedly an original talk, as it took the board game Catan as its starting point. The CEO of Anjana Data used this example to differentiate the key points of strategy and operationalisation in terms of data governance in organisations.

During his presentation, Mario also emphasised the importance of setting up a tailor-made suit for each organisation in terms of its governance model, but without forgetting the three common elements: data governance must be sustainable, absorbable y measurable. This means that data governance must be something that lasts throughout the organisation's lifetime, it must also be integrated at all levels within the company, and it must be measured to identify whether we are really doing it well. 

In addition, there are patterns that help us define which of the four types of strategy we should choose: business and strategy motivators, operating model and governing bodies, policies and procedures, change management and communication plan. As we announced a month ago, with the launch of Anjana Data Platform 23.1, we are also revamping our Official Certification with the aim of providing our customers and partners with the necessary training to use all the features of the new version of Anjana Data. Within the Admin Path, There are two levels: Functional Administrator y Technical Administrator. On this occasion, the level we have updated is Functional Administrator, which is aimed at functional profiles and enables you to acquire the appropriate knowledge to define the configuration requirements of the Anjana Data platform with the aim of customising the platform to meet the specific needs of each organisation. Taking advantage of the fact that we have updated the content, we would like to remind you that the knowledge required to take this level is training and experience in data governance and management, with no specific knowledge of particular technologies being necessary.

Below are some of the key points about Anjana Data's Official Certification:

1. AccessUsers who had access at the Functional Administrator level will continue to have access because the course space will remain the same, only now with the content updated to version 23.1. Therefore, you will not need to fill in any more forms, but users will be able to access it as usual.
2. Certificates: The Functional Administrator diplomas issued to date correspond to version 4.4. and therefore become invalid in using the new version. Anjana Data's Official Certification updates its content with each version, implementing minor changes, but given the significance of the changes in this version, in this case, the levels will be changed in their entirety to ensure that users acquire the necessary knowledge to work with the new version of the platform. Therefore, users who wish to remain up to date must take the new level. 
3. ExaminationIf the content changes, the test to pass the course also changes. Likewise, we would like to announce that we will continue to maintain the same conditions as with the previous course: specific completion time, more than 80% to pass the exam, and three limited exam attempts for the Functional Administrator level.

At the virtualisation layer, each user has a role that gives them restricted access to the various data repositories according to the DSAs to which their adherence has been approved and in accordance with the policies defined at the governance layer. Only one consumption layer (virtualisation) is managed, and from a single governance layer, greatly simplifying management. 

GOVERNED ACCESS EXECUTION 

The resolution of the access requested by a user is achieved through role-based validation workflows following the defined operating model. Once the workflow is approved, access permission is granted from the governance layer and not directly in the virtualisation layer, as it is included directly in the consumption group that is being mapped in the virtualisation layer.

ACCESS TO DATA THROUGH THE IDENTITY MANAGER 

If the user no longer needs the data, they are simply removed from the consumption group. If the user leaves the company (deleted from the identity manager), they automatically lose their role on the virtualisation layer. This is done by managing the Data Sharing Agreements in the governance layer, from where the underlying technical processes are orchestrated automatically and unattended.

From Anjana Data we are pleased to announce that, with the release of our new version 23.1, we will also be renewing our Official Certification. As usual with each new version, our training also evolves to continue offering our ecosystem of partners and customers all the resources they need to acquire the necessary knowledge to get the most out of Anjana Data.

But, as 23.1 will mark a turning point in our Platform., We also wanted to go a step further in the Official Certification and make the new content live up to the new capabilities of Anjana Data.

As this will mean important changes in the levels of the Official Certification, we have launched this short article that gathers all the necessary information for those who are certified (more than 600 certified to date, which is soon to say), in the process of being certified or who are interested in obtaining the certification, both partners and clients and independent professionals. In this regard, the first level we are going to update is the initial level, which we called Fundamentals until now.. This level is the one that will evolve the most to become the most important.a new one called User Expert, which will collect all the updated content for any user of the Anjana Data 23.1 platform.

Once the Fundamentals level has been changed to User Expert, we will proceed with the changes of the following levels, which will keep their current names following their classification in three different paths: Functional Admin, Technical Admin and Platform Admin.

Here are a series of questions and answers that we hope will clarify all your doubts.

What will happen to users, will they have to re-register at this new User Expert level?

Users who had access to the Fundamentals level will continue to have access to the new User Expert level because the Fundamentals course will be updated in terms of content, documentation, exam and course name; but the course space will remain the same, only now with the name User Expert.

So there will be no need to fill in any forms again, but users will be able to log in as usual, only they will see updated content.

What content will the new course include?

The content is aimed at data governance and management roles, as well as any user in the organisation who wants to learn more about the platform's functionalities. The course provides knowledge on the handling of the platform while presenting a whole philosophy based on good data governance and management practices.

What will happen to the diplomas held by users so far?

Well, as we warned previously, the Fundamentals diplomas correspond to version 4.4 and therefore lose validity in the use of the new version. Anjana Data's Official Certification updates its course with each version implementing small changes, but, given the relevance of the changes in this version, in this case the levels are going to be changed in their entirety to ensure that users acquire the necessary knowledge to work with the new version of the platform. Therefore, those users who want to remain up to date will have to take the new level. 

And how do I know which diploma corresponds to which version?

As we have done so far, each diploma of each course has a design and an identifying number for each user. Therefore, this time it will not be different, the new User Expert level, which is the evolution of our current Fundamentals course, will have an accreditation diploma with a different design and specific colours for that level.

What about the test, will users have to retake the test?

That's right, if the content changes, so does the test to pass the course. We would also like to announce that we will continue to maintain the same conditions as with the previous course: specific completion time, more than one 80% to pass the exam and three exam attempts.

What about the rest of the higher levels?

As we indicated above, the other levels of the Anjana Data Official Certification will also evolve, but progressively to ensure that the content is in line with the level we like to maintain in our Official Training Platform. Therefore, although we are working on the rest of the levels, for the moment we are only going to launch the User Expert level. However, we can announce that the changes will be made in the same way as with this level: first we will make a notice as we do now and we will set a date, then the changes will be implemented on the established date and a mailbox will be opened so that users can ask any questions that have not been resolved with the published content. Also, through this mailbox, we will be able to deal with specific cases of each user.

When will the new User Expert level be launched?

The new level will be launched on 16 November at 0:00 hours. So users will be able to enjoy the new content, without the need for new registrations and forms, from that date. Sharing the update of the Official Certification applied to the new version before the launch of the new version aims to allow users to acquire the necessary knowledge before starting to work with the new platform.
