Data management and governance with a business perspective
When an organisation intends to evolve to a scenario in which data is considered to be one of the most important strategic assets, The governance and management of data with a business vision acquires a particularly relevant weight and the organisation strives to transform itself to bring data as close as possible to the business in order to be able to make better decisions in less time and with greater agility.
In this scenario, views of data governance as purely technical or as a necessity for regulatory compliance are totally obsolete. Today, more than ever, data is the business and that is a transformation for the vast majority of organisations.

Raúl Cruces, Data Group Vice-president & Global Senior Data Manager of the Santander Group, has learned this over the last few years and is not only applying it in his day-to-day work within the organisation he represents, but has also materialised it in his book “Data: unfinished business”Data: unfinished business“, recently published.
On the occasion of the launch of his book, Raúl will join us in this last session of the year as part of our initiative “The DATA-DRIVEN webinar series” to talk about data management and governance with a business vision, and will also share his experience in the implementation of the Single Data Marketplace.
“Data: unfinished business” sends a clear message that the new technology and information society is taking us into a completely new environment, different from anything we have ever known. It is not just about data governance: it is about efficient, intelligent and engaged data management. This growing and unstoppable visibility of data is not a revolution. Rather, it is a logical evolution, a reflection of all aspects of our professional and private lives in the everyday environment. Let us all remember that the world has changed and continues to change and that we therefore need to adapt to the new environment“.
